Sonja and Siena met in their first year of college and have been friends ever since!

Which PHASE ONE lecture topic are you most looking forward to?

Siena is excited to expand her knowledge on Rough Animation. Sonja is looking forward to learning more about compositing.

When did you meet your teammate?

We met through the Pencil Mileage Club at California State University Fullerton, although we didn't really become friends until after we both graduated. We just randomly started hanging out and bonded over the post-grad artist struggle. Now we work at a pizza shop together.

Which PHASE ONE lecture topic are you most looking forward to?

Alondra is most excited for the storyboard lecture because storyboards are her bread and butter. Liam is most excited for the compositing lecture because this is something he is somewhat experienced with, but is self-taught and wants to learn how professionals go about it.

When did you meet your teammate?

Selina: I saw Jason’s instagram profile and thought his art is amazing and goated…then I found out that he is in SENECA and we are actually CLASSMATES… Also we both worked on the same graduation thesis film which is Next Friday: Magical Meow Meow! Jason: My storyboard teacher showed us one of Selina's boards as an example, so I saw her work before I even met her. You did not have to flex on us like that...

Which PHASE ONE lecture topic are you most looking forward to?

Jason: I'm most excited about the art direction lecture, as well as the compositing one. I believe that will really help materialize our concept. Selina: I’m looking forward to the vis dev and storyboard related lectures! Since visual development and Story plays such a huge role in a cohesive narrative, I look forward to learning from the Story and vis dev lectures and I know it will help us achieve the intended aesthetic and style for our short film!

When did you meet your teammate?

We first met at USC’s pitch day. I(Colleen) got to know them(Mika) and their creative background, and have since known that I’d love to work with them throughout my university career. We worked on our first 24-hour animation challenge together a couple months later and found our skillsets to be complementary to each other which incentivized us to keep seeking opportunities to collaborate and bring our ideas to life. I really appreciate the way Mika sees and approaches things from completely different angles from myself because it keeps me perpetually learning something new. It’s so fulfilling to collaborate with someone who shares the same interest in exploring the human condition through often overshadowed narratives and amplifying such creatively.

Which PHASE ONE lecture topic are you most looking forward to?

Mika: I’m most looking forward to learning to refine my script and story development, especially within the constraints of a short film project! Colleen: I’m most looking forward to the lecture(s) on learning how to organize the project since it’ll further my filmmaking experiences, especially since my passion lies in producing and production management. The program would be a unique setting to hone my skills in animated shorts production with the mentor support and professionalism of an independent studio’s working environment.

We’re twins so since birth we think.

Darius: Design & Art Direction, I can’t wait to design some fun creatures! Kiana: Storyboard, I’m eager to learn more about translating our script to the screen!

Airin: I’m excited about script writing and animation.

Kat: I’m excited for script and storyboard!

Tenzin: NZ and I met during my freshmen year in college during our forum class.

NZ: We met in college in our freshman year.

Which PHASE ONE lecture topic are you most looking forward to?

Tenzin: I am most excited to tackle the big script class. It's the most important and helps set the groundwork for the rest.

NZ: I am most excited for layout and rough animation. I am an animator and I'm always interested in ways of effectively planning shots.

We met three years ago at art school in a visual development course.

We met at ArtCenter. There were only three Kazakh people at our school at the time. Kazakh gravitational pull worked.
